Serhii Tkachuk, Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, paid a working visit to Warsaw as part of the delegation led by Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food.
During the meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland Czesław Siekierski, the parties discussed the creation of an effective formula for the agricultural sector of both countries.
“Support on the European integration path is important for us, especially in terms of harmonising national legislation on livestock welfare and antibiotic resistance in line with EU requirements. Since animal welfare is an indicator of economic development and affects the ability to develop the export potential of Ukrainian producers,” said Serhii Tkachuk. “I believe that together Ukraine and Poland will be able to achieve and supply agricultural products to the international trade arena.”
Serhii Tkachuk highlighted Ukraine’s recent milestone: joining the international ePhyto system two months ago. This system enables the electronic processing and issuance of phytosanitary certificates for export and re-export. These certificates include QR codes, ensuring document authenticity verification.
The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection constantly maintains close ties with the competent services of EU member states. This allows Ukraine to enhance trade and economic relations with partner countries, including the Republic of Poland.
