|The prospects of cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in the field of energy efficiency were discussed in the course of a meeting between Serhii Savchuk, Head of State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and Tucker Brown, diplomat on energy issues of the Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
The US is among the top 5 world countries in terms of investment in renewable energy, attracting more than $ 46 billion in green projects in 2016. The United States also rank the second place in the world after China on the total capacity of renewable energy.
In this context, Ukraine highly appreciates the opportunity to establish an exchange of experience with the United States in renewable energy.
Apart from that, Serhii Savchuk briefed the U.S. side on Ukraine's achievements in energy efficiency and outlined the latest legislative changes that encourage businesses to invest in energy efficiency projects.
The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine in synergy with lawmakers has already elaborated the draft law No.7348 aimed at stimulating the construction of liquid biofuel producer plants.
