Denys Shmyhal participated in the meeting of the European Group of Five (E5) countries

Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal took part in a meeting of the European Group of Five (E5) countries – the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, France, and Italy.

Denys Shmyhal stressed the importance of security partnerships with these countries, noting that they have the largest defence budgets in Europe.

Within this international platform, representatives of the countries discussed air defence, joint weapons production, and long-range capabilities. The strengthening of these components has been emphasised by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I am grateful to UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey for organizing the meeting. I also thank Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto for his participation and valuable support,” said Denys Shmyhal.

Minister of Defence of Ukraine also expressed his gratitude to the E5 countries for productive negotiations and their steadfast support for Ukraine.
