For the first time, it has been recognized in an international declaration that reparations from the russian federation would be the source of Ukraine's recovery. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told in "Vadym Karpyak's Big Interview".

The Head of the Government noted that in the Lugano Outcome Declaration, which was signed by dozens of countries and representatives of international organizations, it had been recorded for the first time: Ukraine will be rebuilt, in particular, at the expense of the confiscated assets of the russian federation.

"It has been calculated using an expert method that the amount of losses incurred by Ukraine in the war, as of now, is USD 750 billion. We understand that from USD 300 to 500 billion are frozen russian assets in partner countries. This is the money that we count on and claim in terms of holding international courts and confiscating these frozen assets," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister noted that Canada haв already taken the first step: it has adopted national legislation that allows for the confiscation and transfer of frozen assets to Ukraine. In Germany, according to him, there were also precedents of the confiscation of assets of кussian oligarchs and the transfer of part of the assets to Ukraine.

"This will be a great source of funding for the future recovery of Ukraine. As it should be. In the future, it will become an element of the global security system. The potential aggressor will understand that he will pay for his unprovoked and completely unjustified war," the Head of Government emphasized.

Denys Shmyhal also told that the introduction of military risk insurance by countries whose business comes to Ukraine was discussed at the Lugano Recovery Conference.
