Ukraine will strengthen protection of electricity distribution systems and generation facilities with shelters and air and missile defense systems. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a press conference dedicated to the results of the Government’s three-year work.
“The russians attacked both distribution stations and power generation facilities. Many of them were significantly damaged. Therefore, we plan to implement effective measures to protect distribution substations from enemy drone and missile attacks. Relevant projects have already been developed and will be implemented soon. We will be doing this throughout the year, preparing for the next heating season,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the safety of power plants would also be taken care of.
“They are already equipped with air and missile defense systems. This allowed us to protect them from russian terrorists this winter,” the Prime Minister said.
