The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Joint Declaration on Association between the Government of Ukraine and the International Energy Agency on strengthening bilateral cooperation and interaction. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during the Government meeting on July 15.

"Ukraine sells electricity to Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Moldova. In the first half of the year, Ukraine increased revenue from electricity exports by one and a half times compared to last year. This became possible due to connection to the energy system of Europe," stressed Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister also noted that this month Ukraine had agreed with the World Bank and the EBRD on obtaining over USD 500 million to prepare for the heating season. According to him, at present, the work on the preparation of heat supply facilities, housing fund and social sphere facilities has been completed by one third.

"Almost UAH 300 million has been allotted for repairs of three CHP plants in Chernihiv, Kremenchuk and Okhtyrka. Repairs of boiler houses and electricity grids are underway," the Head of the Government noted.

Moreover, Denys Shmyhal emphasized that all tariffs this winter, as promised, would remain unchanged. According to him, the Government will continue to pay subsidies to Ukrainians who need help while paying utility bills.
