Denys Shmyhal and UK Chief of Defence Staff discuss needs of Ukraine’s Defence Forces
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, met with the UK Chief of the Defence Staff, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, and Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton.
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the UK for its leadership and steadfast support during the full-scale war.
“We appreciate the willingness to deepen our cooperation. The focus is on the urgent needs of the Defence Forces of Ukraine. It is important to scale up production of key drone types together with partners. We discussed industrial cooperation under the ‘Build with Ukraine’ initiative,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The parties also discussed international efforts aimed at establishing robust security guarantees. Denys Shmyhal noted that the Coalition of the Willing continues to advance initiatives aimed at establishing the conditions for a lasting and just peace.
Furthermore, the parties reviewed preparations for the next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in the Ramstein format, which will take place in London in September.
