Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met in Kyiv with the newly appointed Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland David Cameron.
Denys Shmyhal stressed that David Cameron’s first international visit to Ukraine as Foreign Secretary demonstrated the high and unequivocal level of support from the British Government.
The parties discussed important and topical issues: military, financial and sanction support. Particular attention was paid to the issue of confiscating frozen russian assets for the needs of Ukraine’s recovery.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom also discussed support for Ukrainian exports. In particular, war risk insurance.
“It is symbolic that the Government of Ukraine has created a new mechanism for vessel insurance with British companies. We look forward to developing cooperation in this area,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Head of Ukrainian Government thanked the UK for training the Ukrainian military: “We rely on further support for our country on its path to NATO.”
