Denys Shmyhal chairs a Strategic Investment Council meeting
On 23 July, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal chaired a meeting of the Strategic Investment Council under the Government of Ukraine.
Its participants considered a number of organisational issues and defined the main initial parameters of its activities.
The Strategic Investment Council was formed to set priorities and prepare a single portfolio of public investment projects.
"This is necessary for effective communication with partners who provide Ukraine with financial resources to implement these projects. It is about transparency, accountability and mutual trust between Ukraine and donors. It is also one of the stages that all candidate countries for accession to the European Union have to go through," said Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the portfolio of potential funding for public investment includes projects at both the central and local levels.
"It is crucial to have a unified mechanism for their prioritisation and objective assessment. We are working on this right now. In September, we expect to approve the list of public investment projects for 2025 and submit it to our partners. Thus, in the conditions of limited financial resources, we will effectively allocate funds to get the best result for the state, for communities and for all Ukrainians," the Prime Minister said.
