Denys Shmyhal demonstrated the most recent models of unmanned systems to the European Commissioners
Ukraine is becoming a world leader in the production of drones. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a presentation of the most recent models of unmanned systems for international partners at the Ukrainian House.
The Head of Government, together with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov and representatives of the State Special Communications Service, saw the Ukrainian solutions. These include large attack drones that destroy russian tanks, warehouses, and equipment, as well as reconnaissance drones that help the military plan missions, and UAVs that can perform logistics, mining, and kamikaze functions.
"In January this year, drone production increased 10 times compared to last year. Investments in the Ukrainian defence industry are what strengthens our defence capability and enhances the defence of Europe,’ said Denys Shmyhal.
During the exhibition, the European commissioners were also shown the consequences of the destruction caused by enemy attacks, in particular the Chornobyl sarcophagus, and the weapons used by russia to strike at Ukrainian infrastructure.
The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine's priority is to further develop cooperation between the EU and Ukraine in the defence sector.
"Increasing support for the Ukrainian defence industry through additional funding, direct purchases of defence products, and the creation of joint ventures with European defence companies. All these are very important for boosting Ukrainian production capacities," stated Denys Shmyhal.
