First set of compensations under the eVidnovlennia programme is paid: Denys Shmyhal
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal chaired a meeting on compensation payments for damaged and destroyed housing.
The meeting brought together Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration - Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov and Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the filling of the register of damaged and destroyed property, as well as on the steps being prepared by the ministries.
According to the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, the first disbursements of funds under the eVidnovlennia programme have begun. People from the Kyiv and Donetsk regions received them. In total, Ukrainians have filed more than 17,300 applications for assistance to restore damaged property. The Government has allocated UAH 4.4 billion for this purpose.
"The eVidnovnennia programme has been successfully launched. The first payments to help restore damaged housing have been made. We continue to work on expanding and improving the programme so that everyone whose property was damaged or destroyed as a result of russian aggression can receive compensation quickly and easily," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development to speed up work on a compensation mechanism for people who have already made repairs themselves.
The Head of Government also raised the issue of the effectiveness of local commissions that verify damage.
"Currently, 444 commissions have been established. We have to reach the figure of 700. Their work should be public and affordable for every citizen. As well as the process of submitting applications and tracking the stages of their consideration," the Prime Minister said.
For their part, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development are working to create an appropriate system to make the process of receiving compensation as comfortable as possible for people.
