Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal chaired a meeting on the state of preparation of enterprises of the fuel and energy sector for the autumn-winter period of 2023/2024.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, Head of the State Inspectorate for Energy Supervision Ruslan Slobodian, representatives of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ministry of Energy and NPC Ukrenergo.
“All agencies involved in preparing for winter should focus on restoring power generation capacity, carrying out scheduled repairs and ensuring engineering protection of power facilities. We should act quickly and in a coordinated manner in all areas to restore and secure the energy system as much as possible before the next autumn-winter period,” the Prime Minister stressed.
According to Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, the planned programme of repairs to energy facilities is on schedule. Based on its results, Ukraine plans to add 1.7 GW of generating capacity to the grid by the next heating season.
The Prime Minister also heard information on the use of distributed generation and alternative energy sources.
The speakers outlined problematic issues and ways to solve them. Following the meeting, Denys Shmyhal set the appropriate tasks.
