On the night of 16 February, russian terrorists targeted the critical infrastructure of Mykolaiv with a UAV. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
"The enemy damaged the city's thermal power plant. This was done deliberately to leave people without heat at below-zero temperatures and create a humanitarian catastrophe,’ the Head of Government stressed and added that 46,000 consumers had been left without heat supply.
Denys Shmyhal stressed that all relevant services were eliminating the consequences of the attack and doing everything possible to resume heating to homes, schools and hospitals as soon as possible.
He also said that central and local authorities were coordinating their efforts to help people.
The city has already deployed 67 invincibility points and started connecting 3 modular boiler houses in healthcare facilities.
The Prime Minister has instructed the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies to hold a meeting on this issue. Following the meeting, a number of other measures will be taken to provide heat to the city's residents.
