Denys Shmyhal during the inspection of the boiler facility in Ternopil region: A set of energy efficiency measures will help reduce the sums in utility bills
During a working trip to Ternopil region, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal got acquainted with the reconstruction of the modernized boiler house of the Ternopilmiskteplocomunenergo utility company.
The Head of Government stressed that the modernization of boiler facilities is aimed at increasing energy efficiency and reducing heat loss during its transportation by networks.
"The boiler house produces and supplies thermal energy to more than a hundred apartment buildings, as well as schools, kindergartens and hospitals. The reconstruction allowed to cut the consumption of natural gas by 6%, electricity by 34% per month as well as reduce the impact of the cost of these energy sources on the value of the tariff for heat production," said Denys Shmyhal.
The Prime Minister added that a large-scale energy modernization program would be launched in Ukraine next year at the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the Head of Government, a set of energy efficient measures will help reduce the sums in utility bills for people.
Reconstruction of the boiler house of Ternopilmiskteplokomunenergo is held with the support by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Denys Shmyhal stressed that this is another example of the success of decentralization reform, when local authorities implement joint projects with international financial organizations.
