At a meeting on 27 December, the Government decided to distribute UAH 3 billion of additional subsidies for the maintenance of schools and hospitals in 2024. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"The funds will be allocated to a number of communities in 24 regions of the country. We expect the local authorities to use these funds effectively," the Head of Government stressed.

In addition, by a separate resolution, the Cabinet of Ministers provided a subvention to hromadas for the material and technical equipment of the school subject "Defence of Ukraine".

"Children will be taught the skills of civil defence, medical care, military and patriotic education, etc. All this will provide the younger generation with the most necessary knowledge and skills needed in the face of extraordinary security threats," the Prime Minister said.
