From July 1, Ukrainians will become the real masters of their land, because they will be able not only to own it, but also to freely dispose of it. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted during a regular meeting of the Government on June 30.
"This norm is enshrined in the Constitution, but in fact, it was impossible due to the moratorium. No country has succeeded yet when putting in effect a moratorium on the introduction of a civilized land market. Starting tomorrow Ukraine will deprive of it either," the Prime Minister stressed.
The Prime Minister noted that the introduction of the land market is also an important step aimed to protect the rights of Ukrainian farming. According to him, the implementation of the mechanism of the preferential right to purchase the land leased by farmers is envisaged.
"Land reform provides for the establishment of an Agricultural Partial Credit Guarantee Fund. As a result, even small farmers who cultivate land up to 500 hectares and who do not have a credit history will be able to get a loan," stressed Denys Shmyhal.
The Head of Government noted that all transactions will go through the bank, while all contracts will be checked by notaries. In turn, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food has already launched an information campaign explaining the benefits and details of the land market operation.
