
Denys Shmyhal visited healthcare institutions of Chernihiv region
During a working trip to Chernihiv region on May 12, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal got familiarized with the work of the Chernihiv Regional Hospital as well as visited the Department of Radiation Therapy and Linear Accelerator of the Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology.
In accordance with the implementation of the program of the President of Ukraine "EMERGENCY 2020", Chernihiv Regional Hospital is determined as a hub hospital (multidisciplinary intensive care hospital - MICH II), which will provide highly qualified round-the-clock medical care.
"Today, the hospital accepts patients with severe coronavirus. I am personally grateful to the medical staff for their backbreaking work. In the near future, the modernization of the emergency department will be completed, and the institution will receive new modern equipment," said the Prime Minister.
Starting February 1, 2021, the newly established intensive care unit for acute strokes was opened in the Chernihiv Regional Hospital. The multidisciplinary team of the hospital ensures the provision of methods of diagnosis and treatment of acute strokes around the clock.
Apart from that, Denys Shmyhal got acquainted with the activities of the Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology. The center is a modern specialized medical and diagnostic institution of the tertiary level of medical care.
In 2020, the Chernihiv Medical Center of Modern Oncology became a full member of CEEGOG (Central and East European Gynecologic Oncogy Group). The Oncology Center showed the highest results in performing complex operations with laparoscopic access and was noted for the high level of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
During the visit to the medical center, the Prime Minister saw a presentation of a project on the development of bone marrow transplantation.
