The Government addressed the Verkhovna Rada with a proposal to increase the amount of subsidies in the budget by UAH 12 billion. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a press conference on September 14.
"Today the budget execution makes up 104%. This is an additional UAH 28 billion to the general fund. From this money, we will propose to the Parliament to allocate UAH 12 billion in subsidies, so that all people who need subsidies receive them without delay and in full amount," the Prime Minister stressed.
The Prime Minister noted that presently there are almost 3 million households in Ukraine that need such assistance.
"Verification of subsidy recipients was carried out through electronic registers. Subsidies are about justice, so it is vital to ensure that people who really need it receive help, but not those who give in rent 5-6 apartments," the Head of Government stressed.
According to Denys Shmyhal, the Government will soon submit a draft of amendments to the budget for 2021.
