To date, Ukraine has agreed on support worth USD 10 billion through various instruments: loans, grants, aid, projects. More than USD 4.5 billion has already been disbursed, stated Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in an interview with the RBC Ukraine.
"We expect the next USD 5 billion in May. We have personally agreed with the Director of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva that the Fund will help Ukraine to collect this difference on a monthly basis," Denys Shmyhal stressed.
Moreover, the Prime Minister told that Canada was among the first countries to initiate the transfer of part of the SDRs to Ukraine. Relevant solutions are currently being negotiated with other partners. In addition, we already have arrangements that the United States will provide USD 2 billion a month in the mentioned difference of USD 5 billion.
"In the support package for Ukraine to the tune of USD 33 billion, which they approved, more than USD 8 billion - is a resource for four months. That is, they will make a monthly contribution through the administrative account of the IMF to the tune of more than USD 2 billion," said Denys Shmyhal.
In general, according to the Prime Minister, the needs of the Ukrainian budget are currently estimated at USD 4.5-5 billion per month. These include the supply of weapons, the payment of additional increased payments to the army, humanitarian, social support, and demining.
