    The implementation of reforms, countering COVID-19 pandemic and deepening trade and economic cooperation were discussed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė. The meeting took place in Vilnius on July 7.

    Denys Shmyhal thanked Lithuania for hosting the Ukraine Reform Conference and noted the extensive and multifaceted contribution of the Republic of Lithuania to the implementation of reforms in our country.

    "I am convinced that the achievements and agreements on the outcomes of the Conference will be successfully implemented for the benefit of Ukraine, the Ukrainian-Lithuanian partnership and Europe in general," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

    The prime ministers of both countries stressed the importance of counteracting the COVID-19 pandemic and overcoming its negative effects on the economy.

    "Mitigating the impact of the coronavirus on the economy is an essential point on the agenda of our Government and requires a constant response to the needs of business, helping to restore economic activities," emphasized Denys Shmyhal.

    The Prime Minister of Ukraine noted that the intensification of investment activity could become one of the drivers of economic growth. He added that Ukraine was committed to use public-private partnerships to develop investment infrastructure, create a regional network of industrial parks and more, and the involvement of Lithuanian businesses in the implementation of these projects would have a positive impact on bilateral relations.

    "It is important that Lithuanian companies see prospects for the development of the Ukrainian economy and new opportunities for projects in Ukraine, many are already working in our market," said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.

    Denys Shmyhal also highlighted that Ukraine appreciates Lithuania's contribution to the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in a number of areas. He thanked the Lithuanian side for supporting Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

    The Head of the Ukrainian Government invited the Prime Minister of Lithuania to pay a working visit to Ukraine in the near future.
