Communications Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 28 October 2021 15:09

A sum worth almost UAH 22 million of the subvention will be directed to local budgets to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) in need of assistance in providing temporary housing. The corresponding decision was approved by the Government during a meeting on October 28.

"Subvention will be received by 11 regions. It is planned to purchase 53 real estate objects and repair 13 objects for temporary accommodation of approximately 242 IDPs, " Denys Shmyhal stressed.

Apart from that, the Government has approved a Strategy for the Integration of Internally Displaced Persons. According to the Prime Minister, the document is designed to create conditions for the integration of IDPs in the territorial communities that receive them.

"In particular, it is a question of ensuring full access to administrative, social and other services, as well as creating conditions for the development of the potential of IDPs in their new place of residence," Denys Shmyhal underscored.

According to the PM, today in Ukraine there are more than 1 million 400 thousand IDPs, so the implementation of such a strategy is of utmost importance.
