Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland are united by common goals and values, a common position in assessing challenges and threats, as well as a common vision of countering russian aggression and bringing our victory closer. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated following a meeting in the Lublin Triangle format with Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė and Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation between the governments and focused on security issues. As Denys Shmyhal noted, several priority tasks were identified.
"The first and undeniable is the victory of Ukraine in the war, the restoration of the territorial integrity of our state within internationally recognized borders. I received assurances from my colleagues that Lithuania and Poland will be with us until our victory," the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed.
According to the Prime Minister, the issues of military, financial and humanitarian assistance, as well as challenges related to the russian terrorist activity aimed at destroying the Ukrainian energy infrastructure were discussed during the meeting. In particular, the issue of supplying generators and other necessary equipment to Ukraine for the passage of the heating season was raised.
"Nine months of trials have proved how important the unity of our nations is. The efforts of the governments of our countries within the framework of the Lublin Triangle will be aimed at supporting all initiatives that will further strengthen the Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian partnership and the common future of our peoples in the united Europe," Denys Shmyhal stressed.
Following the meeting, the Heads of Government of Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland signed a Joint Statement, which, among other things, noted the significant contribution of the Lublin Triangle to the consolidation of international support for Ukraine in countering russia's aggressive policy, the importance of investigating its war crimes and bringing the perpetrators to justice, as well as the need to further strengthen military, financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
