On September 21, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held an online meeting with Alfred Kammer, Director of the IMF’s European Department. Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko and Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Kyrylo Shevchenko were also present.
Denys Shmyhal personally congratulated Alfred Kammer on his recent appointment and assured that further cooperation with the IMF is among the crucial priorities for both the President and the Government of Ukraine.
"Ukraine highly appreciates the comprehensive support of the IMF being provided in times of trials for the entire world," said the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government announced that a letter had been sent to Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva, with a request to launch working of the mission in the online regime in Ukraine.
The Prime Minister also invited Alfred Kammer to visit Ukraine, following the removal of restrictive measures introduced due to the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19.
