Ukraine calls on partners at the level of governments, local authorities and individual companies to help Ukrainian cities and regions. This will be a great example of solidarity that will demonstrate what true European values are. This was emphasized by the Prime Minister of Ukraine in his online address to the participants of the GLOBSEC 2022 Forum in Bratislava.

The Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger and the Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš also took part in the discussion on Mobilizing Support for Ukraine.

Denys Shmyhal appealed to all those who want and demonstrate readiness to support Ukraine, to use the United24 platform to contribute to Ukraine's victory.

"The Government has already launched a priority stage of reconstruction in the liberated territories. Right now, we are repairing roads and individual houses, demining, restoring light, gas and water, and building temporary housing for thousands of people who have lost it. That is why we are asking our partners for help," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

According to the Government's estimates, the total losses of Ukraine's economy due to the war have already reached $600 billion. As Denys Shmyhal noted, the country has a huge amount of work ahead.

"We don't just want to rebuild bricks and concrete. We want to build a new state. Therefore, the plan for the reconstruction of Ukraine is drafted on the principle of "Build Back Better". Ukraine wants to apply a unique combination of approaches to reconstruction," the Prime Minister stressed.

According to the Prime Minister, these are regional and parametric approaches. The first involves the patronage of allied countries, sister cities, international corporations over the Ukrainian regions and their assistance in reconstruction.

"For example, Greece has stated its readiness to join the reconstruction of Odesa. Italy - readiness to help rebuild Mariupol after its liberation. The United Kingdom expressed its readiness to support the reconstruction of Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Denmark - Mykolayiv region. Estonia - Zhytomyr region," said Denys Shmyhal.

The parametric approach, as noted by the Head of the Ukrainian Government, is more centralized and is being developed by the National Council for the Recovery of Ukraine, which was established by the President of Ukraine.

"Ukraine must become a new state after reconstruction. A full-fledged part of the EU with a new economy, new infrastructure, new opportunities," said Denys Shmyhal.

For his part, Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger noted that Ukraine is part of Europe and the European Union. He stressed that Slovakia had passed the European integration stage twenty years ago, and expressed confidence that Ukraine would also cope with this perfectly, as it has high motivation and support from the people. Eduard Heger called on everyone to help Ukraine defend democracy and freedom.

In his statement, Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš emphasized that it had not been a difficult decision for Latvia to support Ukraine. According to him, if Ukraine does not win, Europe will not be able to feel safe. The Prime Minister of Latvia stressed that Ukrainians are extremely strong as a nation, and it is a common duty to help Ukraine in this war.
