February 25, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed with the heads of regional and Kyiv city state administrations the progress in the implementation of the reform of the administrative-territorial system, including the formation and reorganization of district state administrations.

The event gathered together Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Chernyshov, Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko and other top officials.

According to the Prime Minister, establishing interaction between each particular community and the authorities is an important step in the decentralization reform. According to him, this process should be coordinated and clear, which is why it is crucial to accelerate the reorganization of district state administrations and ensure the stable operation of social protection bodies.

"It is important to ensure that people in need continue to receive social support and protection from the state. We should pay considerable attention in the process of pursuing the reform and accelerate the formation of social protection departments in the community," said Denys Shmyhal.

Moreover, the participants discussed measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 and prevent the next wave of disease. The Prime Minister stressed the need to strengthen measures to monitor compliance with anti-epidemic norms.
