Ukraine's international partners will have an opportunity to bring their unique experience and understanding of how to build a qualitatively new environment in destroyed and damaged cities and villages. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal emphasized in a statement at the presentation plenary session "Framework for smart and sustainable recovery process in Ukraine" within the scope of the Ukraine Recovery Conference underway in Lugano, Switzerland.

The Head of the Government emphasized, in six weeks more than three thousand Ukrainian and international experts, officials, parliamentarians worked out thousands of pages of their vision - what kind of country we are building and, most importantly, how we will restore our country.

"It's not just about allocating funds for a destroyed school or broken road. We are talking about the fact that partners can bring their unique experience and understanding of how to build a qualitatively new environment. How to form a new urban space, how to build new facilities according to the best standards. This synergy will allow us to ensure the transformation of the regions," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Prime Minister, the Recovery Plan for Ukraine will be divided into three key stages. The first is the restoration here and now of objects critical to people's lives. The second part is fast recovery, restoration after the end of hostilities of schools, hospitals, construction of temporary housing. The third phase of the plan is long-term transformation.

"It concerns all spheres, from education and medicine to the green transition and the new military-industrial complex. People, economy, infrastructure — these are the three pillars of Ukraine's recovery," the Head of Government noted.

Denys Shmyhal accentuated, the Government is already creating an electronic map of Ukraine to record all the damage caused by the war. In parallel with this, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Government team, as well as experts from the Kyiv School of Economics engage in activities to assess total damages according to international standards.

"Our principle is as follows: united in the struggle - united in reconstruction. Partners will also gain access and see the destruction map. Based on this map, together with the Government, experts and local authorities, they will prepare technical projects for the reconstruction and transformation of the regions," the Prime Minister emphasized.
