During a working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region on May 27, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal got acquainted with the construction of the pool of the Slobozhansky sports complex. Among those participating were Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Hutzayt, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Tymoshenko.
Slobozhansky Sports complex is multifunctional and has the capacity to simultaneously provide services to many hundreds of visitors from dozens of sports. The complex also provides services for fitness and health recreation events and high-performance sports.
"By the end of the year, the second stage of construction of the sports complex - a new and modern swimming pool - should be completed. This will help attract a large number of people to engage in water sports, as it will be the only pool in the left-bank areas of the Dnipro city and neighboring communities of the Dnipro district," noted Denys Shmyhal.
The Head of Government added that the swimming pool could also be used for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities, in particular children.
"It's vital that the community sees development. High-performance Ukrainian teams hold competitions in the Slobozhansky sports complex. Next to this facility, construction began in another direction - for playing sports. This is a good example of the success of decentralization reform," said the Prime Minister.
The construction of a swimming pool in the Slobozhansk consolidated territorial community will cover the interests of more than 300,000 residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The project is implemented at the expense of the State Regional Development Fund as well as regional and local budgets.
