During the 20th meeting of the Energy Community Ministerial Council, Ukraine made a statement to the Contracting Parties of the Community to condemn russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and the use of resources and energy to blackmail economies and societies of European countries.

“We called on all members of the Energy Community to manifest solidarity with Ukraine and other countries directly affected by this cruel war,” said Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.

In particular, Ukraine called on the Contracting Parties to join the EU restrictive measures imposed against the russian federation and belarus and to adopt appropriate measures in their domestic legislation.

The statement of Ukraine was supported by the majority of Energy Community member states.

The Energy Community Secretariat will assist in the implementation of this initiative and will regularly inform on the progress achieved.
