In the near future, Ukraine will receive transformers and solar panels from Japanese partners. This was discussed during a meeting of Deputy Ministers of Energy of Ukraine Yaroslav Demchenkov and Svitlana Hrynchuk with representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), led by JICA Senior Vice President Naoki Ando.
Naoki Ando assured that Japan will continue to support the Ukrainian energy sector and announced the supply of transformers and solar panels in the coming months.
Yaroslav Demchenkov thanked the Japanese side for the support provided to the Ukrainian energy sector and stressed its importance for the winter in the face of hostile attacks on energy infrastructure.
Svitlana Hrynchuk noted that Ukraine was interested in deepening cooperation with the agency to strengthen the physical protection of energy facilities. The Deputy Minister also invited JICA representatives to join the AidEnergy electronic system, which allows users to learn about the current needs of Ukrainian energy companies online and provide prompt assistance.
Naoki Ando stressed that energy security was of great importance, and about 40% of the assistance provided by Japan to Ukraine was to support the country’s energy sector.
