First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held an online meeting with Austria’s Federal Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer. They discussed Ukraine’s needs amid the energy emergency and agreed to review all urgent requirements for transferring reserve or used equipment from Austrian power stations to Ukraine.

As Denys Shmyhal noted, Austria has already announced an additional EUR 3 million in humanitarian aid for Ukraine. Ukraine also greatly appreciates Austria’s overall contribution of EUR 15.5 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Energy thanked the Government and people of Austria for their consistent support of Ukraine’s energy resilience.

“We are grateful for the assistance from Austrian businesses, which have supplied equipment for underground gas storage facilities, combined heat and power plants, and gas production capacities. Any help is important to Ukraine for building reserves and preparing for the next heating season,” Denys Shmyhal emphasised.
