On September 4, 2018, within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Turkey Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov met with Minister of Interior of Turkey Süleyman Soylu.
Arsen Avakov thanked the Minister of Interior of Turkey for an unwavering policy on Crimea.
"I want to express gratitude to the Minister for the staunchest non-recognition policy of the annexation of Crimea by Russia. It is incredibly important for us", Arsen Avakov claimed.
Minister of Interior of Turkey Süleyman Soylu stressed that Ukraine is a sovereign state with inviolable borders, and Turkey respects it.
"I want to thank the official Kyiv for the support of the Crimean Tatars, and their right to life and freedom", H.E. Soylu said.
The parties discussed cooperation in the field of combating transnational organized crime, terrorism, information security and cybersecurity. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine placed a special emphasis on strengthening cooperation in combating human trafficking and drug crimes.
The Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov is on an official visit to the Republic of Turkey. He is scheduled to meet with the leadership of law enforcement agencies, to familiarize with the work of the helicopter units of the Turkish Gendarmerie and the coast guard system.
