December 7, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andrii Reva and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius signed an Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on employment and cooperation in the field of labor migration.

Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania have agreed to conclude an Intergovernmental Agreement on employment and cooperation in the field of labor migration in order to develop friendly relations and in connection with the need to safeguard, at the legislative level, the social and labor rights of Ukrainian citizens who engage in paid activities in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania, and citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, who engage in paid activities in the territory of Ukraine.

The aforesaid Agreement regulates labor migration between two states and will promote the strengthening of cooperation in the field of protection of rights and interests of employees of Ukraine and employees of the Republic of Lithuania, as well as the fight against illegal employment.
