The Russian Federation is an aggressor country, which demonstrates defiance and volatility. But Ukraine will defend its sovereignty from any manifestations of aggression. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in an interview with the German national daily newspaper Die Welt.
Answering journalists' questions about the situation in the Azov Sea and further developments, the Head of Government, in particular, noted: "Russia is an aggressor and an invader. It will exert every effort to occupy the Sea of Azov and the entire region. It appears the violation of all possible rules of international law. We will protect our sovereignty."
The Head of Government noted that now it is vital not just to monitor the situation in Ukraine, but to respond jointly and toughly. "Unless the aggressor pays a high price for his actions, the problems he causes will be in abundance", urged Volodymyr Groysman. "Don't get delusions. The sanctions regime needs to be intensified. We need mirror measures. If Russia blocks ships in the (Kerch) Strait, it is crucial to block Russian ships in other waters in response. Russia has no right to violate laws and then avoid punishment for those actions."
