As part of the Government’s grant programme to support small and medium-sized businesses, another 19 agricultural enterprises received UAH 41.7 million. The money will be used to develop gardening, berry growing, viticulture and greenhouse farming. In total, 145 farms received state aid worth UAH 624.2 million for the development of orchards and greenhouses this year.
In particular, UAH 484.4 million was paid to 118 farms for orchards. Another 27 companies received UAH 139.8 million for greenhouses.
Since the start of the programme, UAH 672.5 million has been paid to 153 businesses. In particular, UAH 518.7 million was allocated to 124 farms for the development of gardening, berry growing and viticulture, and UAH 153.8 million to 29 enterprises for greenhouses.
This year, 136 farms received grants in full.
Background
The Government’s grant programme has been in place since 1 July 2022 and provides support for small and medium-sized businesses. Its benefits include the opportunity for everyone to start or develop their own business in the areas of “Own Business”, “Own Garden”, “Own Greenhouse”, and “New Level”.
Grants are awarded for a maximum of 70% of the project cost, up to a maximum of UAH 10 million. The applicant must finance at least 30% of the project costs from own or borrowed funds. A prerequisite is the employment of the required number of workers. For orchards, 5 to 10 permanent and 125 to 425 seasonal workers, depending on the type of planting. For greenhouses, a minimum of 4 permanent and 10 seasonal workers per hectare.
