Today, on December 16, the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects received 31 special emergency rescue vehicles of light type (SARM-L). The transport was purchased under the State Road Safety Improvement Program in Ukraine for the period up to 2020. Special transport will be transferred to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii.
The Minister stressed that reducing road accidents and the consequences of road accidents for the life and health of people is a priority of the road safety program:"Antishock measures carried out in the first hours after an accident can ensure 25-30% reduction in mortality. According to the World Health Organization, 20% of victims would have been rescued if they had been given medical care immediately at the scene of the accident, and mortality among those injured increases by 0.5% for every hour of delay in surgery. Thus, it is vitally important for rescuers,who are working on the scene of an accident, to ensure timely search for victims and to provide them with medical care", Vladyslav Kryklii stressed.
The Chairman of the State Agency for Infrastructure Projects Kyrylo Khomiakov said that the cars are designed to provide rescue efforts during the first priority rescue operations, eliminate the consequences of road accidents, measures to search for victims and provide them with medical assistance, organizing communications and notification during the liquidation consequences of emergencies.
