  • Update on the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection

    According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on April 30, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 10,406 COVID-19 cases, 261 patients died, 1,238 patients recovered. In total 717 cases in children and 2,063 in medical workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 540 new cases have been confirmed.

    As of April 30, coronavirus disease was registered:

    • Vinnytsia region - 417 cases;
    • Volyn region - 280 cases;
    • Dnipropetrovsk region - 347 cases;
    • Donetsk region - 68 cases;
    • Zhytomyr region - 374 cases;
    • Zakarpattia region - 419 cases;
    • Zaporizhia region - 243 cases;
    • Ivano-Frankivsk region - 862 cases;
    • Kirovograd region - 391 cases;
    • Kyiv – 1,401 cases;
    • Kyiv region - 664 cases;
    • Lviv region - 430 cases;
    • Luhansk region - 33 cases;
    • Mykolaiv region - 126 cases;
    • Odesa region - 277 cases;
    • Poltava region - 203 cases;
    • Rivne region - 637 cases;
    • Sumy region - 102 cases;
    • Ternopil region - 779 cases;
    • Kharkiv region - 249 cases;
    • Kherson region – 111 cases;
    • Khmelnytsky region - 82 cases;
    • Chernivtsi region – 1,571 cases;
    • Cherkasy region - 290 cases;
    • Chernihiv region - 50 cases.

    Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.

    7,192 patients, out of this number 577 children and 1,713 medical personnel are undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 3,214 people were hospitalized, including 140 children and 350 healthcare workers. There are 138 people including 1 child and 10 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.

    As a result of the complications caused by the disease, 261 people died with 146 men out of this number and 115 women, with 85% of deaths occurring in the 50 and above age group.

    A total of 1,238 people including 268 medical personnel have already recovered - repeat laboratory testing has found no virus in body.

    The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of April 30, 2020, the Center received 1,216 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 29,062 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.

    The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine urges when having the first symptoms of respiratory illnesses to call a family doctor. Stay home! Self-isolation is the most efficient way to protect yourself from infection.
