Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak stressed it during ceremonies on the eve of the International Day of Women Rights and Peace.

Gen. Poltorak said that more than 24,000 female service members are in the Ukrainian army, including more than 3,000 officers.

“About 7,000 women accomplished tasks in east of Ukraine. Since the ATO beginning, 116 female service members have been awarded with state awards”, the Minister said.

“Since 2014, our women have been defending Ukraine along with men. You are beautiful, brave and strong. I wish you love, success, prosperity. I wish you to be always with your beloved and we are ready to defend Ukraine with you”, Stepan Poltorak wished.

The Minister awarded the best female service members with ministerial awards and promoted into new ranks.
