Prime Minister: Parliament's new session is new challenges and opportunities, we have a clear strategy for development of the country

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine opens a new session, which encompasses new challenges for Ukraine and new possibilities, but the elaborated agenda for reforms is a well-defined strategy aimed to eradicate negative trends and ensure successful development of the country. This was claimed by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a joint briefing with the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrii Parubii.

The Head of Government thanked the Parliament for consolidation of efforts in the fall of 2017, inter alia for the possibility to adopt a number of far-reaching decisions in medicine, education, and pension systems. As the Prime Minister stressed, people will have access to a new health system and a qualitatively new education due to the said initiatives. "A decision on changes in the pension system was taken. We are currently preparing a new bill on amending pension payments for servicemen. After all conciliation procedures with the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will be wound up, we are to submit the bill to the Parliament, in order to start retrofitting of pensions for military servants from January 1," Volodymyr Groysman stressed.

He emphasized the package of 35 bills developed in collaboration with the President of Ukraine, lawmakers and experts seeks to ensure economic upturn and strengthen systemic changes in the country.

"We have elaborated a package of 35 bills, the authors of which are, the President, the Government and MPs. This is the blueprint for creating conditions for business development as well as forming opportunities for sustainable economic growth," the Head of Government stressed. We will coordinate efforts - the Government and Parliament  in order to adopt the necessary decisions as efficiently as possible."

The Prime Minister recalled that the issues at stake are the most burning initiatives regarding access to finance, state resources, and deregulation. He assured these incentives will significantly strengthen and improve Ukraine's position in international rankings, first of all, the Doing Business index.

"The core objective is to change the trend. Ukraine faces unprecedented challenges. But we have a clear strategy to sneak out of this difficulty situation, which we have been dealing with for years. Our task is a decision-making and qualitative implementation and  introduction of these solutions systematically and efficiently. We will be able to move forward. We will take a worthy place in Europe and in the world", the Head of Government underscored.

Volodymyr Groysman assured of his staunchest support for the creation an anti-corruption court in a full line with the recommendations of the Venice Commission, as well as the initiative to reform the work of the Verkhovna Rada.
