Decentralization reform is one of the most successful reforms in country, says Georg Milbradt

The reform of the decentralization of power is the most successful of all Ukrainian reforms being implemented. The Government of Germany fully supports its implementation. For this reason, we present a common legislative blueprint for decentralization, claimed Special Envoy of the Government of Germany on reforming Ukraine in the spheres of governance and decentralization Georg Milbradt.

He placed a special emphasis on the fact that the Parliament should shortly approve key decentralization laws. The  representative of the Federal Republic of Germany said that the issue of transferring of land management to amalgamated territorial communities is of paramount importance.

The Envoy emphasized decentralization changes the attitude of people towards the further development of their own community and country. "From my own experience, I know that people become more responsible. Ukraine will be different over a year. Ukraine's success also affects Europe. The more your country succeeds, the better it will be for Europe," stressed Georg Milbradt.

It is noteworthy that Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine and Georg Milbradt, Special Envoy of the Government of Germany on reforming Ukraine in the spheres of governance and decentralization, in the course of a joint press-conference presented 17 much-needed draft law, which are the basis for the further development and successful implementation of the decentralization reform on the ground.
