Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk met with US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin
On January 12,
2018, in the framework of a working visit to the United States of America,
Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danyliuk met with US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin.
The meeting concerned
the discussion of the course of economic reforms in Ukraine, the issues of
support for our country by the United States, the US sanctions policy in
support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, the status of cooperation
with the IMF, as well as the progress in combating corruption and initiatives
to improve the business climate in Ukraine for the last three years.
"We are
grateful to the United States for strengthening economic sanctions, which are considered
an effective tool to contain Russia's aggression. Ukraine continues to
implement reforms that give a positive result, and through this we have already
managed to regain economic growth. We still have a lot to do to make our
economy stronger and more resistant to crises. In this way, the US support is
important," said Oleksandr Danyliuk.
US Treasury
Secretary Stephen Mnuchin noted that the United
States will continue to support Ukraine in implementing the necessary reforms
for the country.
