Ukraine and the European Union entered the final stage in preparation for the signing of the Cooperation Agreement on co-financing of the Energy Efficiency Fund. It is planned to be inked earlier in the year. Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko wrote on Facebook page.

"The signing of the Agreement allows to obtain a sum worth EUR 50 million for the financing of energy efficiency measures being implemented by associations of owners of apartment buildings under the rules of the Energy Efficiency Fund this year, as well as the possibility of additional resources to the tune of EUR 50 million to finance activities in 2019," underscored the Vice Prime Minister.

Hennadii Zubko recalled that the Government has earlier approved the Charter of the Energy Efficiency Fund and the mechanism for using funds envisaged in the state budget for 2018. The said step offers an opportunity to kick off the work of the Energy Efficiency Fund. It is noteworthy that in 2018 the state budget will provide financing worth 1.6 billion UAH for energy efficiency measures being implemented by associations of owners of apartment buildings under the rules of the Energy Efficiency Fund.

Moreover, he placed an emphasis on the fact that a legislative framework aimed to give a green light to the launch of the Energy Efficiency fund has already been adopted, in particular Law on Energy Efficiency Fund, Law On Commercial Accounting of Thermal Energy and Water Supply, Law on Energy Efficiency of Buildings and Law on Housing and Communal Services.

"The principal areas for our further cooperation with the European Union are personnel selection of CEOs and members of the Supervisory Board of the Energy Efficiency Fund, creation of the necessary IT systems (energy auditors' registers, energy efficiency certificates, monitoring of the results of implemented energy efficiency measures), as well as a public platform for providing energy audit services designed to ensure transparency and openness of all procedures within the framework of the work of the Energy Efficiency Fund", the Vice Prime Minister underlined.
