The Board of Directors
of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) approved the key
financing for the wind mill farm project in Zaporizhzhia
region, which is the evidence of the attractiveness of Ukraine's energy sector.
The project was sponsored
by Luxembourg-based company EuroCape
New Energy Ltd., and the OPIC decision opens up the way for the development,
construction and operation of the first 225 MW phase of the Project with a
total planned capacity of 500 MW. The
projected investment will amount to about EUR 466 million. General Electric
Company is planned to sell and manage 62 wind turbines and to invest equity
capital into the Project.
