Prime Minister: We assume commitment to withdraw an issue of queuing for attendance to Ukrainian preschools from the agenda by 2020
The Government has assumed a commitment to
eliminate queues in kindergartens by 2020, and the heads of city and regional
state administrations should engage in finding the solution to this issue. This
was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman while communicating with representatives of
regional media outlets.
"I set the task to withdraw queuing
in kindergartens by 2020. This is the number one issue - and I will demand from
city mayors, heads of the RSA to support (this decision). It is necessary to settle
an issue of queuing for attendance to Ukrainian preschools," stressed
Volodymyr Groysman.
Background
According to the
plan of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the number of places
in kindergartens and preschools by 2020 should reach 97 thousand. This will
completely satisfy the needs of the society. In this regard, the Head of Government stressed that
the construction of preschools and kindergartens should be included in the
priority projects list financed by the State Regional Development Fund. The draft State Budget for 2018 provides for the allocation of UAH 6
billion for the State Regional Development Fund to solve this problem.
