Deputy State Secretary

of Ministers of Ukraine Tetiana
Kovtun and Executive Director of the Office of
Reforms of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine Anton Yashchenko met
with representatives of the European Union, USA, Canada, Switzerland,
the World Bank, the European Bank
for Reconstruction and Development, international organizations and
projects supporting the reform of
public administration in order to
brief international partners about the progress of
the public administration reform and effective coordination
of expert, technical and financial
assistance for the reform.
Representatives of the Secretariat of the CMU and the
Office of Reforms touched upon core
objectives of the public administration
reform being implemented by the Government, the main results
of the reform
in 2017, the state of reforming
ministries, the results of the
competitive selection for new posts
in the civil
service - reform specialists (150 closed vacancies, more than 8000 on-line application forms submitted) and plans for the
next year.
"Public administration
reform is one of the
Government's far-reaching reforms. This is
the core basis for the
successful implementation of all other
reforms. We launched the restart
of 10 ministries, the Cabinet of
Ministers and two agencies. We
update structures, procedures and bring the best
professionals to work in the
civil service. We are grateful
to our international
partners for the considerable support of the
reform of the state administration.
It is essential
to coordinate our joint efforts
and to move
in the same
direction," the Deputy State Secretary emphasized.
Berend de Groot,
Head of the
Cooperation of the Delegation of the European
Union to Ukraine, emphasized the EU pledges its full support
to the ongoing
reform of public administration in Ukraine, and
noted that over the last
year the Cabinet of Ministers
had formed a powerful team, which is working
on the reform
implementation, in particular on reorganization
of ministries in an universal
approach. Therefore, it is of
utmost importance to coordinate technical
assistance projects that are being
carried out in different ministries.
