
High Level Agricultural Investment Forum was held in Cairo
On December
5, 2017 in Cairo, there was held International Agricultural Investment Forum
“Promoting Sustainable Investment in Egypt’s Food Security”. More than 200
high-level participants, including policy-makers, ministers, CEOs of leading
companies in Egypt and abroad, and senior managers from major International
Financial Institutions attended the forum. The event was co-organized by the
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the European
Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank. Ambassador of
Ukraine H.Latii also took part in the event.
A number of
experts and entrepreneurs from Ukraine, in particular, D.Prikhodko
(economist, FAO investment center), Hero of Ukraine, President of the company “Nibulon” O.A. Vadaturskyy, representative
of the company “Nibulon” D. Furda,
president of Ukrainian Grain Association M.Gorbachev
and consultant Y.Shatochin acted in the capacity of
moderators and speakers at the forum.
The Forum
was a unique occasion for the private and public sectors to share lessons
learned and best practices, identify investment priorities and coordinate
activities in strategic areas.
In
addition, companies had the opportunity to discuss prospects of cooperation
with their partners and representatives of the Egyptian government.
On the
margins of the forum, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the
Ukrainian company “Nibulon” and FAO.
