    Fellow Ukrainian citizens!

26 years ago during an All-Ukrainian referendum Ukrainian people confirmed their desire to live in an independent country and to be the host on their land. More than 90 percent of Ukrainian citizens who took part in the expression of their will voiced their firm stance: it had become clear then that the new independent state would exist, and the ancient state, which had been ruled by a number of states at different times, was revived on the political map of the modern world. An old dream of Ukrainians they were fighting for and giving away their lives for centuries came true.

Unfortunately, a number of transformations Ukraine had been launching were lasting for decades, while Ukrainians were consistently demonstrating their unwavering desire to live in a democratic, law-governed state. Any attempts to establish an authoritarian regime in our country were smashed down facing hardshell democratic principles and aspirations of our people to live in line with the principles of European law and legal culture. The whole world was impressed with courage, persistence and deep faith in our future, which Ukrainian people demonstrated twice defending their values in Maidan events of 2004 and 2014.
