One of the strategic tasks for the Government is to obtain complete energy independence, especially since the country possesses all necessary resources for this target. The Head of Government stressed during the Government sitting.
"We all remember that until recently the country has been dependent on Russian energy sources and we also remember that it was used as an instrument of pressure on Ukraine. The country has not been importing Russian gas for 720 days", stressed the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government thanked foreign partners not only for their assistance to Ukraine in a very difficult 2014 year, but for their ongoing support. "That’s true that we import gas from abroad. But our aim is not to buy, but to become an energy independent state, and then to start exporting energy resources, " he underlined.
Volodymyr Groysman emphasized the implementation of energy efficiency programs is on agenda, and the Government pledges readiness to increase the funding for these programs, as well as to ensure the formation of a fair gas price formula.
