Volodymyr Kistion: Ukraine decreased consumption of anthracite coal by 30%
Following the results of October 2017, as compared
with the same period of the last year, consumption of coal of anthracite group
in Ukraine decreased by 30% that makes up 300 thousand tons. It became possible
to diminish the consumption due to the warm weather conditions in October and
to the transition of power units of TPPs operating on anthracite to the gas
group coal. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion during a
regular meeting on problematic issues in the energy system of Ukraine.
According to the Vice Prime Minister, next year the
need for anthracite will be even lower due to measures that are being actively
carried out in order to reduce the use of anthracite group.
Apart from that, he emphasized a vital task for the next
year is to increase own production of gas group coal.
