  • Rehabilitation of road infrastructure still remains essential agenda for the Government, pledges Volodymyr Groysman

    The declared a year ago by the Government policy towards road infrastructure restoration, construction and repair of roads in Ukraine with the simultaneous modernization of the logistics base to maintain the road infrastructure remains the priority of the Government's activities for the next and subsequent years. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the Government sitting.

    "We have launched repair and reconstruction activities. The year of 2016 was the start of work, in 2017 we have boosted volumes of activities, in 2018 and the coming years this (activity) will still remain our top-priority agenda", stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

    The PM admitted the country has a long way to go before cardinal change in the situation with the road infrastructure can be seen. However, examples of construction of new speedways throughout the state can be provided. "We will reach every nook of our beautiful country and rehabilitate our road infrastructure. Year after year citizens will feel that the situation continues to change," the Head of Government added.

    At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers Sławomir Nowak, acting head of Ukravtodor, the State Agency of Motor Roads, presented the results of work of his office in 2017, the prospects for the upcoming winter, briefed about the key projects that had been launched this year and will prolong in next periods. He also drew attention to the fact that the volume of procurement by the Ukravtodor had reached a record number making up UAH 54 billion, which indicates activities in the whole road industry have intensified substantially.
