
Japan will simplify visa requirements for the Ukrainian citizens
On 9th November 2017 Minister for Foreign
Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin
met with the State Minister
for Foreign Affairs of Japan
Kazuyuki NAKANE. The meeting was held
in the framework
of the visit
of Mr. Kazuyuki
NAKANE to Ukraine to participate in the events
of the Year
of Japan in Ukraine.
During the negotiations
the parties discussed the current
agenda of cooperation between Ukraine and Japan
at the bilateral
and multilateral levels, including the intensification of political dialogue,
development of economic collaboration, the «DPRK issue». Pavlo Klimkin informed
the Japanese State Minister on Ukraine’s initiatives
within the UN.
Officials of Ukraine
and Japan welcomed establishment in the near
future of the office of
Japan International Cooperation Agency “JICA” in Ukraine that
will promote the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects in Ukraine.
Both parties confirmed
their will to further deepen
cooperation in all spheres. In
this regard Kazuyuki NAKANE informed on the decision
of the Japanese
Side to simplify
from the 1st January 2018 some visa requirements for the Ukrainian
citizens for their short-term visits to Japan.
The simplifications will promote the
establishment of better conditions for tourists, businessmen,
citizens who repeatedly visit Japan, encourage further strengthening of people-to-people interactions.
